Shooty Soulslike Remnant 2 is a bonafide hit, both critically and commercially, with developer Gunfire Games declaring the game moved more than a million units in just its first four days on the market.
In a statement (thanks, Gematsu), Gunfire Games CEO David Adams said: “To everyone who helped us achieve this amazing milestone, thank you for your unwavering support. This was a multi-year journey for us, and we couldn’t be happier to see fans having such a great time with a game we put our heart and soul into.”
Gearbox Publishing San Franscisco president Yoon Im added that: "Remnant II exceeded our expectations. As a commercial and critical hit, we’re incredibly proud of the Gunfire team and everyone here at Gearbox Publishing who brought this title to life. As excited as we are, we’re incredibly thankful to the Remnant community who supported us and the Gunfire team during development. To the new Remnant fans who joined our community in the past week, we’re thrilled you joined us on this journey.”
The journey began for players with 2019s Remnant: From the Ashes, where they could form cooperative crews and go out and hunt horrific plant demons. It was great fun, and the "Soulslike" aspects mostly refer to a stamina-based combat system, enemies resetting upon resting/travelling, and challenging, multi-phase boss fights.
The first go around, it took Gunfire two months to shift a million units, but it clearly had a long tail and made an impression on players. Congratulations to everyone involved, and if you want to know more, check out our in-depth review of Remnant 2 in both written and video format.

Game is fantastic. They deserve the success. Good for them.
Had a 3-hour session with a friend last night and it was hard to put it down but I had to go to bed.
Hoping to squeeze this in before BG3, but have a couple off the backlog to finish. Happy for them, the first game was criminally underrated.
Loving it. I recommend it even if you find dark soul games super hard.
Well deserved. Put a ton of hours into the first one and it never got old. Will be putting lots of time into this after FF16 and hopefully before AC6.
Awesome. But the game is worse than the first one. People are praising it but it's just a watered down version.
The game is absolutely AMAZING. Glad it's a commercial success as well. They have some balance and bug issues to work out right now, but that's to be expected from any game these days at release. Regardless, I'm still having an absolute blast with it, as tough as it is in some spots.
Congratulations to gunfire game for making a excellent sequel in remnant 2.remnant from the ashes with all the dlcs is the best souls like game next to nioh games with all the dlcs.word up son
Was absolutely loving it until that final boss. After beating that, and the splitting headache from the Virtual Boy looking arena, and the 10 FPS ending cutscene, it kinda killed it for me.
Actually Remnant is a sequel to Chronos which began this whole mess.
